1-Hour Ancient Greek Sculpture Workshop in Athens

The workshop begins in the Ancient Room, a gallery space at the Ancient Symposium studio in central Athens filled with replicas of iconic Greek sculptures and historical armor. Guests spend the first 15 minutes here with a guided introduction to the pieces on display, building visual context before stepping into the working studio. In the studio, participants work with authentic raw clay under the direction of professional artists. The focus is on sculpting a face or a classical bust using techniques rooted in ancient Greek principles of symmetry and form. No previous art experience is required — instructors give step-by-step direction throughout the 40-minute hands-on session, adjusting to each participant's pace. At the end of the session, the finished sculpture is packed into a reinforced souvenir box designed to protect it during airline travel, so guests can bring their work home without damage. The studio is air-conditioned, making it a practical choice on hot Athenian days or when outdoor sightseeing is not appealing.
