Argolis Day Tour: Ancient Corinth, Mycenae, Epidaurus & Nafplio from Athens

This private day tour from Athens covers the major ancient sites and the historic town of the Argolis region in a single long day. Pickup is included from your Athens hotel or accommodation, and you travel throughout in an air-conditioned vehicle with an English-speaking driver who provides historical context at each stop before you enter the sites. The route starts at the Corinth Canal, a narrow waterway cut through the Isthmus of Corinth, where you stop for about 20 minutes to view it from the bridge. The tour then moves to Ancient Corinth, site of one of the ancient world's most powerful city-states, with the Temple of Apollo and an archaeological museum on site. From there, the route heads to the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus, a 4th-century BC structure built into a hillside and known for its exceptional acoustics. After Epidaurus, the tour visits the Bronze Age citadel of Mycenae — home to the Lion Gate, the Treasury of Atreus, and the royal burial shaft graves associated with the Mycenaean civilisation. The final destination is Nafplio, a Venetian-era port town with a well-preserved old quarter, neoclassical architecture, and a seafront promenade. You have two hours of free time there before the drive back to Athens. Entrance fees to archaeological sites and museums are not included in the tour price.
