Cretan Cuisine: A Culinary Journey with Cooking & Olive Oil Tasting

This private tour takes a small group of 2 to 8 guests through three parts of Cretan food culture: the olive grove, the olive mill, and the village kitchen. Hotel pickup is included across the northern Crete coast, from Fodele and Heraklion in the west to Elounda and Agios Nikolaos in the east. The full day runs approximately 6 hours, with pickup from 09:00 and drop-off around 16:00–16:30. The first stop is a working olive grove, where you see how Cretan olive trees are cultivated and learn about the harvesting process. From there, the group moves to a traditional olive mill with panoramic views. At the mill, a guided tasting introduces several fresh olive oils paired with local dishes — a hands-on way to understand why Cretan olive oil holds a strong reputation internationally. The second half of the day takes place in a traditional Cretan village. A local chef leads the cooking class, teaching authentic recipes and techniques passed down through generations. Guests prepare the dishes themselves using regional ingredients. Once the cooking is done, the group sits down together to eat the meal they made, served with homemade wine and water. The tour is fully private — your group is never combined with other travelers. It operates daily from April through November. Pricing is per group: €500 for 2 guests, €600 for 3–4, €700 for 5–6, and €800 for 7–8 guests. Hotel pickup and drop-off are included.
