This workshop takes place inside an atmospheric hall built to evoke an ancient Greek symposium. Over one hour, participants engage in two hands-on activities: crafting a solid perfume and tasting Greek wine, with a guide providing context drawn from mythology and ancient daily life. The session opens with an introduction to ancient Greek perfumery. Each guest chooses a deity from the 12 Gods of Olympus — such as Athena for wisdom, Aphrodite for passion, or Dionysus for spirit — and that choice shapes the botanical blend they work with. The guide explains each ingredient and technique as guests mix and pour their signature scent. While the perfume sets, the focus shifts to the wine tasting. Greek wine is served from a kylix, the shallow cup used at ancient symposia, alongside small food pairings drawn from recipes estimated to be 2,500 years old. The hall includes replica furnishings — a throne and an anáklintron (ancient reclining couch) — that guests can sit on and photograph. The workshop runs year-round as an indoor activity and suits solo travelers, couples, and small groups. Non-alcoholic alternatives are available for guests under 18. No prior knowledge of perfumery or ancient history is needed. Guests with food allergies should inform the host before the session.
